Our Story
I was born and raised between the Dominican Republic and the Philadelphia/Camden Metro Area, navigating two worlds that shaped my perspective on resilience, community, and the power of support. Growing up in one of the toughest neighborhoods in Philadelphia, I thrived thanks to the unwavering encouragement of family and friends. That foundation instilled a deep commitment to helping others do the same—regardless of their background or circumstances.

Before pursuing a degree in psychiatry, I served my community as a psychotherapist for five years, working closely with individuals and families facing mental health challenges. That experience showed me firsthand how confusing and overwhelming the mental health system can be, leaving many feeling lost when trying to find the right path. I knew I wanted to bridge that gap by helping people understand their options with a holistic, expert-driven, and personable approach.

I specialize in executive coaching, telepsychiatry, and psychiatric consulting, offering high-level mental health guidance to busy professionals, high-achievers, and families seeking clarity in an often complex system. As a father and dedicated professional, I understand balancing career and personal life pressures. Dr. Paez is a board-certified psychiatrist with extensive experience in child, adolescent, and adult mental health. Trained at Yale University, Dr. Paez has worked with top professionals, executives, and families worldwide, providing expert second opinions, treatment consultations, and strategic mental health coaching. With fluency in English and Spanish, Dr. Paez ensures accessible and culturally competent care for a global clientele.

I completed my Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the Yale Child Study Center, the premier training institution for pediatric mental health and developmental neuroscience. As Chief Fellow, I led clinical teams, mentored trainees, and delivered lectures on complex psychiatric conditions. I was deeply involved in teaching medical students and giving talks on cutting-edge topics in child and adolescent psychiatry. Upon graduation, I was honored with an offer to join the faculty, reflecting my commitment to leadership, education, and advancing the field of psychiatry.
I completed my general psychiatry residency training at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai - Elmhurst, where I gained extensive experience in diagnosing and treating complex mental health conditions across diverse populations. During my final year, I served as Chief Resident, leading clinical teams and mentoring junior residents. Throughout my training, I was honored with multiple teaching awards, recognizing my commitment to education and excellence in psychiatry.
I completed my medical degree through an accelerated program, graduating magna cum laude, with a focus on mental heatlh and neuroscience. My training included mental health research, community outreach, and public speaking, allowing me to contribute to psychiatric advancements, increase mental health awareness, and educate diverse audiences.
